Sovereign Hill
Sovereign Hill is a tourist park located just outside Ballarat. It re-creates the atmosphere of the mid-1800's after gold was discovered here in 1851. Experience gold panning, mine shaft tours and don't forget to sample the traditional sweets.
Eureka Centre
The Eureka Centre is a newly built information centre where you can learn about one of Australia's most historic events: The Eureka Stockade. Built on the original location of the stockade, the centre presents the Eureka story with state-of-the-art multi-media technology.
Lake Wendouree
Located in the centre of Ballarat, Lake Wendouree is a picturesque location for recreation and relaxation. Hosting the 1956 Melbourne Olympic rowing, kayaking and canoeing events also cemented the lake as a popular destination for watersports.
Botanical Gardens
The Ballarat Botanical Gardens is home to the famous begonia's, the namesake of the city's yearly festival. Located next to Lake Wendouree, they cover 40 hectares and are enjoyed by local residents and world visitors alike.
Ballarat Wildlife & Reptile Park
Experience native Australian animals such as koalas, emus and kangaroos at this 16 acre wildlife park. Surrounded by peppermint gum woodland, the Ballarat Wildlife & Reptile Park is an experience for all ages.
