About ACKMIDS

ACKMIDS has been organised and hosted by the KM Research Program (KMRP) since 1998. We conduct research towards the development of a comprehensive approach to knowledge management for intelligent decision support. The KM Research Program at Monash University, is one of the formal research groups within the Centre of Organisational and Social Informatics.

ACKMIDS08 is organised jointly by KMRP and the Centre for Community Networking Research (CCNR) at Monash University and hosted by the University of Ballarat.

We study both technological and organisational/managerial challenges associated with introducing KM into enterprises. We have and are conducting a number of projects which apply and refine the theoretical models proposed.

The conference provides an arena for discussing current approaches to the way people and organizations work with knowledge. The ACKMIDS conference aims to facilitate an active exchange of ideas between academia and practice.

The conference offers participants an opportunity to generate and explore ideas and to share their experiences within the Australian knowledge management community. While focused on the Australian community, the conference has long enjoyed international participation from Europe, Asia and the USA.
